Woman dies in early morning house fire in South Jersey

A 68-year-old woman died early Monday in what authorities are calling a small fire that erupted in her home in South Jersey.
The one-alarm blaze was reported just after 1 a.m. in a home in the 1300 block of Kaighn Avenue in Camden, in the city’s Parkside neighborhood, authorities said.
Vince Basara, city spokesman, said the source of the fire was not immediately clear, but he added the flames did not spread to surrounding structures.
Firefighters who entered the home found the woman dead on the first floor, officials said. Her name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
6abc in Philadelphia reported the woman apparently died of smoke inhalation.
Authorities said the city fire marshal is investigating, but as of Monday morning the fire seems to have started accidentally.
“As far as the source or the start of the fire, we don’t have that yet,” Basara said. The spokesman said the property is residential, but he is unclear who owns the building.
Public records show the residence is a single-family home that last sold in 2010.
